Owing to a change of career path, Björn Voigt has stepped down as Treasurer of the Federal Union of German steel recycling and environmental service companies (BDSV). Mr Voigt has been highly successful over the last 10 years in representing the interests of the steel recycling industry at both national and international level. In addition to his role as BDSV Treasurer, he was also a Chairman of the organisation’s disposal association ESN.
Mr Voigt has also been a board member of the European steel recycling federation (EFR) and will continue to act as Treasurer of the BIR world recycling federation as well as Senior Vice President of its Ferrous Division.
In recognition of his massive contribution to the national and international work of BDSV, it was unanimously agreed that BDSV President Jürgen Karle should honour Mr Voigt with the organisation’€™s highest award, the golden needle.
