In the same measurement, the Lab-X3500SCl is designed to reach record low levels of sulphur and chlorine in petroleum products without using helium purge.
According to the manufacturer, the sulphur detection limit (600 seconds) of 3 mg per kg (ppm) is the lowest in the industry for this class of analyser and provides users with a product that is ready for the more stringent analytical requirements that can be expected to emerge in the future. The Lab-X3500SCl is pre-calibrated for sulphur methods and meets the specifications of the ISO 20847, ISO 8754, ASTM D4294 and IP336 standards without the use of helium purge gas.
According to Oxford Instruments, the analyser can be used anywhere and the analysis is unaffected by changes in ambient temperature or atmospheric pressure. Samples can be measured cold or when still hot. Simple routine operation involves inserting the sample and pressing start. An approximate result is available in a few seconds and is updated as the measurement proceeds.
The unit is delivered pre-calibrated, thereby eliminating the need for customer calibration before use. The user interface is available in English, French, German, Portuguese, Italian and Spanish.
