The 500 HP chipper offers a choice between ’material-friendly’, energy-saving discharge via a conveyor belt, or conventional discharge via a blower featuring variable rotation speed. The user can switch from one option to the other at the press of a button.
The machine can accept whole trunks into its 1 metre by 75 cm intake while bulky green waste is also pulled in aggressively through a combination of horizontal and vertical feed drums which provide pre-compression and active re-direction into the shredding area. The geometry of the two horizontal feed drums provides precise transfer to the cutting rotor, according to Komptech.
Lateral turning of the residual fraction, and hence chipping across the grain, is prevented such that ’overlengths’ are avoided.
The Chippo offers the option of a low rotation speed with maximum power for heavy-duty processing of wood trunks; and a high rotation speed combined with load-dependent control to ensure the correct feed speed to the rotor and therefore maximum throughput of scrap wood and green waste.
