United States – The US Shredder and Castings Group will shortly open a new casting inventory facility in Charlotte, New York state, and is likely to open another site in Texas next year.
The first of these is to serve the group’s US east coast and south-east USA customer base from January 2014. According to the company, the facility will have partial or complete loads of hammers, caps and other higher-volume shredder castings ready for immediate delivery. There will be a focus of inventory on shredders that do not justify the ordering of complete container loads, particularly 6085 models. The programme is designed to suit companies with multiple shredders as well as individual operators.
US Shredder’s first castings warehouse facility was opened last summer in Mackinaw, Illinois. ‘The immediate response we received at our mid-west facility encouraged us to open the second warehouse faster than originally planned,’ says Barry Sheppard, the company’s vice president of aftermarket sales. US Shredder will be looking to open its third such facility in Texas ‘by the end of next year’, he adds.
The US Shredder and Castings Group specialises in the manufacturing of scrap shredders, control systems, downstream systems, non-ferrous recovery, air systems, scrap shears, balers and loggers, as well as shredder castings, service, engineering and consulting to the worldwide scrap industry.
