New cable stripper and granulator from JMC

UK-based JMC Recycling Systems has added a cable stripper capable of handling wire as fine as 1 mm and a low-cost cable granulation system to its range of equipment. The two new products present small and large processors alike with the scope to take advantage of today’s high copper prices, according to the Nottingham-based company.
Known as the 1000 Euro Strip, JMC’€™s new cable stripper is thought by the company to be the only unit of its type on the market capable of handling wire as thin as 1 mm in diameter. The Euro Strip 1000 can be operated from a bench top and is designed to strip wire ranging in thickness from 1 to 25 mm at rates of up to 15 metres per minute.
The machine sets itself apart from other systems, says JMC, by eliminating the need for constant operator adjustment of the cutting blades to suit different cable sizes. For those with larger cables, the system can be combined with the Euro Strip 3000 or 5000 models, which have been operating successfully throughout Europe since their launch two years ago.
Meanwhile, the Eureka cable granulation system is a heavy industrial machine for producing clean copper granules from all types of household cable and other small wire. The cable can be fed directly into the hopper in lengths of 500 to 1000 mm, or in rings of 300 mm diameter. The cable is first processed through a granulation system and the resulting granules transported to a separation unit via a blower system. Separation of metals and plastics takes place on a vibrating dry separator. The Eureka can process up to 200 kg of copper cable per hour and requires very little floor space.
Managing Director of JMC Recycling Systems Phillip Pownall comments: ’Eureka is a tough and effective machine. For the larger producer, Eureka gives perfect separation of copper and plastic granules which in turn generates top prices for the user, while Euro Strip 1000 is easy and fun to use – ideal for those who want to earn extra money from a small amount of very fine cable. Both machines will pay for themselves very quickly.’€™
