With Lindemann non-ferrous metal separators, Metso Minerals has played a key role in developing dry-sorting processes for non-ferrous metals. The main features are the optimised magnetic flux of the eccentrically-arranged magnet system, the variable pole reversal frequency and the multi-functional control system. This ’unique’ combination leads to excellent separation results in the recovery of non-ferrous metals and the removal of unwanted non-ferrous metals from non-metal streams in a wide range of applications. Lindemann non-ferrous metal separators can be used as stand-alone solutions, as well as in combination with a shredder and classifying systems, in a variety of recycling operations such as car shredder plants, heavy media flotation plants, electronic scrap processing plants, plastic waste recycling plants, incineration slag processing plants, recycling plants for pre-selected waste and waste-glass processing plants. Retroactive integration into existing plants presents no problems, according to the company.
With Lindemann non-ferrous metal separators, the direction and degree of deflection of the non-ferrous metals are adjustable. Thanks to the multi-functional control system, the purity and yield levels of a wide variety of material compositions and granulations can be controlled.
As separation efficiency is greatly influenced by the magnetic rotor position, the pole reversal frequency and the effective flow density of magnetism, the patented magnetic rotor is eccentrically arranged and the position is adjustable. This means the rotor can be positioned to suit the material, which leads to better separation results and improved protection against damage by iron particles.
The rotor positioning system, combined with electronically-adjustable rotor and conveyor belt speeds, makes for optimum separation conditions for different types and sizes of material. Separation of non-ferrous metal grain sizes from 100 mm down to 3 mm is possible – or even down to 1 mm in certain instances.
