Landfill bans could see WEEE incinerated

This is not the intention of the bans which are dedicated to increase the recycling and re-use quote. Since recycling is still more of a cost position within producers’ profit and loss statements, the recycling industry claims that UK government should explore the use of policy instruments to discourage incineration of recyclable or compostable materials, to ensure that they are treated as high up the waste hierarchy as possible’.
