Now in its 28th year, J.McIntyre Machinery Ltd will continue in operation but will trade as TARDIS Recycling Solutions. TARDIS is the company’s aluminium dross cooling and pressing system. A new company – JMC Recycling Systems Ltd – has been formed to handle the McIntyre range of shears, balers, and can baling and sorting equipment.
The present Managing Director of the company, Sally Johnson, is to stand down, allowing the appointment of J.McIntyre Machinery’s General Manager, Jason Midgley, to the post of Managing Director of TARDIS Recycling Solutions; David Pownall will continue as TARDIS Sales Director. Phillip Pownall, who is currently responsible for sales of shears and balers, will manage JMC Recycling Systems.
TARDIS Recycling Solutions will trade from J.McIntyre’s present unit in Dunkirk, Nottingham. JMC Recycling Systems will also operate from Dunkirk, but will move into new accommodation on the same industrial estate.
Sally Johnson, who will take on the role of Marketing Director of both companies, said: ’The two sides of the McIntyre business are very different in terms of the type and size of the products and the customer base. TARDIS is a relatively high-spec piece of equipment which is sold around the world to blue-chip companies and which requires a significant degree of project management. In the TARDIS world, no-one has ever heard of McIntyre since we have been extremely successful in branding the product. It therefore makes sense to rename the company. Shears and balers require different production, sales and marketing techniques, and these don’t fit well with the TARDIS operation. In addition, we will now have two Managing Directors, each focusing on making their own, more targeted company successful. I think that this is an extremely positive move forward for McIntyre Machinery.’
