According to the organisation, the new office will improve the quality of information on developments in the Asia-Pacific region for the benefit of IISI’s worldwide membership, while also reinforcing services to members in the region itself.
Beijing was chosen as the location for the new office after an extensive selection process. It will be run by Dr Nae Hee Han, who also becomes IISI’€™s Chief Economist; initially, she will be assisted by a small number of local staff although, in the longer term, international staff from IISI and Steel Fellows from the organisation’€™s member companies will be located in the Beijing office from where they will support programmes being developed in the Asia-Pacific region.
