France – France headquartered waste giant Veolia has seen the revenue out of its waste business increase with 5% to Euro 8.5 billion in 2014.
Veolia′s revenue rose in particular in the UK, due to higher business volumes and the increase in commercial collection and hazardous waste and industrial services volumes. The company also saw its business volumes increase in central and eastern Europe.
These impacts were partially offset by declining revenue in Germany of nearly -5.4%, primarily due to the continuing decline in commercial collection and sorting, recycling volumes in the waste business, as well as the ‘unfavourable’ weather impact. Veolia reports ‘particularly good performance’ in the United States (+5.8%), Asia (+6.6%), the Pacific region (+6.1%) and in Africa and the Middle East (+9.3%).
