Feedstock no longer falls by gravity into the grinding chamber but is evenly and horizontally fed into the rotor with the help of feeding screws.
According to the manufacturer, this approach offers the following advantages: higher throughput (30 to 50% more capacity compared to gravity-fed machines with the same size cutting chamber; even loading of the rotor (less fines and dust in the regrind); and enhanced operator safety through the elimination of ’fly-back’.
More material can be fed to the storage tank for automatic treatment, thus removing the need for continuous manual feeding by the operator. Since the large openings typical of belt or manual feeding systems are no longer required, acoustic emissions are also reduced.
