European glass recycling sets new records

The most spectacular growth (+20%) occurred in the UK where collections exceeded 1 million tonnes for the first time. Spain and Italy also showed strong growth of nearly 9% and 4% respectively. Despite a 4% decline in its collection tonnage, Germany remained the clear leader in volume terms.
The weighted average recycling rate for all countries reached an all-time high of 63%.
