The 6th International Electronics Recycling Congress (IERC) will be taking place in Hamburg, Germany, on January 17-19 2007. The preliminary programme includes sessions on: financial guarantees for recycling; reports on international trade in metals and plastics; the zero landfill policy of OEMS; activities in take-back and recycling; and major challenges and solutions for industry and regulators. Other sessions will focus on: the export of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) to Asia; processes and plants for recycling and recovery; and best available technologies for dismantling, sorting and recycling. The event will also feature a round-table discussion covering the EU’s REACH and RoHS Directives.
ICM, the Swiss organiser of IERC 2007, has launched a call for papers and is inviting interested authors to submit their presentation proposals before July 31 this year.
