The RC 180 is connected directly by flange to an extraction pipe through which the edge strips are removed free of wear by vacuum from the point of generation and conveyed to a double-blade rotor for cutting between rotor and stator blades. The rotor is CNC-milled from solid material and enables precise setting of cutting gaps, whereby very thin edge strips can also be processed. The cutting gap thickness can be set without training directly at the machine.
The stable exterior suspension of the rotor enables speeds of up to 3000 rpm; the equipment can also be used at high sheeting feed speeds of 400-800 metres per minute. Edge strips with widths of up to approximately 200 mm can be processed, while a multiple connection facility permits simultaneous feeding of up to eight edge strips.
