Cronimet sets up Estonia joint venture

Archiv – The Estonian arm of Germany’s Cronimet Group has formed a joint venture with fellow Estonian scrap processing company Eesti Metall.
The new venture – to be known as Cronimet Eesti Metall – will provide Cronimet with an opportunity to expand its product portfolio; Cronimet Estonia focuses on raw materials for the stainless steel industry whereas Eesti Metall trades mainly in ferrous and non-ferrous metal scrap. Eva Pedjak, formerly Managing Director of Eesti Metall, will retain responsibility for activities in Estonia.

The new venture – to be known as Cronimet Eesti Metall – will provide Cronimet with an opportunity to expand its product portfolio; Cronimet Estonia focuses on raw materials for the stainless steel industry whereas Eesti Metall trades mainly in ferrous and non-ferrous metal scrap. The new business counts five locations in Estonia: the headquarters are at Tartu while branch offices can be found at Tallin, Jõgeva, Valga and Paldiski.
Eesti Metall collects scrap metal from companies, private people and local governments at its four scrap yards. It also provides clients with professional services and integrated waste management solutions. In addition to ferrous and non-ferrous scrap, materials also handled by the firm include cables, electronic scrap and batteries.
