United Kingdom – Coca-Cola and supermarket chain Tesco have launched an online campaign to encourage the UK public to do more recycling at home. The ‘Together We’re Making Recycling Count’ initiative is offering vouchers for Coca-Cola products or Tesco Clubcard points in exchange for a pledge from consumers to recycle more from their households, including plastics.
Consumers will be asked three multiple-choice questions before they can make their pledge. A prize draw will reward participants with anything from fridge magnets made from recycled PET bottles to an ‘eco-fridge‘ and Tesco vouchers.
‘We know that consumers often positively change behaviour but they need both education and encouragement, and this joint campaign is set to do this,‘ a Coca-Cola spokesman states. Tesco underlines the need ‘to tackle climate change by helping reduce the carbon emissions from the products‘.
The ‘Together We‘re Making Recycling Count‘ campaign will run throughout the summer.
