The three new models have been designed to improve loading cycle efficiency and to increase versatility. They offer increased forward reach, lift height and operating capacities compared to their radial-lift counter parts. Furthermore, they are fitted with low-effort, pilot-operated hydraulics; an anti-stall system that allows the machine to be driven at low engine speeds so as to reduce noise output and fuel consumption; easy servicing and convenient service checkpoints; and increased stability.
Greater lift height allows building materials to be delivered onto higher work platforms while increased forward reach means the load can be placed further inboard, thereby increasing job site safety. Ideal for work in confined spaces, the 232 and 242 are only 1.5 metres wide but lift 680 kg and 862 kg respectively. The 262 is lift rated at 1143 kg and is suitable for bulk re-handling in waste transfer stations or for building sites where movement of heavy materials is required. The vertical lift linkage of the 262 allows loads to be raised to 3.2 metres at a forward reach of 82.5 cm.
All three models have a bucket discharge angle of 50 degrees. This has obvious benefits when handling damp or sticky materials such as clay-rich soils since the bucket can be emptied much more effectively. Furthermore, the 232, 242 and 262 all have longer wheel-bases compared to their radial-lift counterparts to provide increased stability and improved ride quality. More than 30 different work tools are available, including multi-purpose and grapple buckets, cold planers, augers and pallet tines.
