Delegates at the upcoming IARC24 have an opportunity to see one of the most successful car recycling operations in Europe.

A tour of Van der Ven Autorecycling is on offer on the third day of the event which is being held in Antwerp from 19-21 June. Recycling International will cover the event.

Self-dismantling

The company, based in Roosendaal in the Netherlands, processes 30 000 to 35 000 cars annually and boasts a recycling rate of around 98.7%. It has two workshops with a total of 15 ramps to dismantle cars. In a nearby scrap area, cars are further dismantled using four Powerhands. The warehouse has space for 100 000 original used parts.

A fleet of 35 trucks collects cars in the Netherlands and Van der Ven Autorecycling also offers customers the opportunity to dismantle car parts for themselves at a fixed, lower price.

Transformation

Director Martijn Traas says IARC24 delegates will gain exclusive access to his company’s diverse range of high-quality, used auto parts.

‘They will witness the remarkable transformation of crushed car wrecks into valuable resources. They will see the state-of-the-art dismantling area and watch as the cutting-edge equipment and techniques drive efficiency and sustainability.’

The visitors will also be shown tyre recycling initiatives and the the drainage area to see responsible fluid management in action. If necessary, the ELV is taken to an approved shredder where the plastic is further separated.
