Tomra appointment boosts wood team

Tomra Recycling is developing its presence in the European wood scrap market with the appointment of new area manager Alexandre Clairembault.

The company says it was the first sensor-based sorting solutions provider with a dedicated team for the wood segment. It is aiming to develop waste wood recycling through its sorting technology and ‘process improvement’ consulting for industry.

French base

A specialist in the wood sector for over 20 years, Clairembault is based in Tomra’s French office at Salon-de-Provence but he will be working with sales teams across the region. He has held sales management roles with Egger, Sonae Arauco, Kronospan and Menuiseries Combes.

Tomra’s wood recycling solutions include X-Tract and its AI add-on GAINnext for the Autosort machine. X-Tract separates waste wood from complex mixed streams using dual energy x-ray transmission. GAINnext identifyies objects by their shape, size and visual characteristics, enabling the differentiation between various types of wood or wood composites.

Experience

Jose Matas, Tomra Recycling segment director for wood at TOMRA Recycling, says: ‘Alexandre’s extensive experience makes him perfectly positioned to drive our European expansion, capitalising on the growing demand for circular wood waste solutions and strengthening our local teams.’
