United States – Bulk Handling Systems (BHS) has acquired fellow US company National Recovery Technologies (NRT) – known as a global authority on optical sorting equipment and materials processing.
BHS specialises in the design, engineering, manufacturing and installation of sorting systems and components for the solid waste, recycling, waste-to-energy, and construction and demolition industries.
Its CEO Steve Miller says NRT ‘was founded by some of the brightest scientific minds in the industry’ and has been run according to ‘values based on technology innovation, quality of manufacturing and a strong commitment to customer support – values that BHS has as well’.
NRT produces high-end optical technology and holds exclusive rights to 29 US patents and five foreign patents, ranging from near-infrared and X-ray to laser and line camera sorting systems. Mr Miller expects the deal to ‘strengthen BHS’ position as a global leader in providing the most state-of-the-art and durable material recovery systems in the industry’.
