‘The Recyclist’ is the name of a new magazine from the Bureau of International Recycling. The bi-annual ‘coffee table’ publication gives an ‘insider’s view’ on the global recycling industry, says BIR.

The magazine has been created for the world recycling organisation’s 1 000+ members, as well as key stakeholders.

The first edition of The Recyclist was revealed during the ISRI 2024 Convention & Expo in Las Vegas. BIR president Susie Burrage presented the magazine on-stage during a live podcast hosted by US recycler and machinery provider John Sacco of Sierra. The Recyclist was Burrage’s initiative and she is proud of the launch: ‘It’s a project close to my heart. I have eagerly anticipated it since assuming the role of BIR president in May 2023.‘

Showcasing the importance of global recycling, BIR hopes the magazine will help improve the industry’s reputation, highlighting how vital it is to the global circular economy.

‘Diverse and vibrant’

It covers global updates and views from a ‘diverse and vibrant industry, providing readers with a breadth of articles including first-hand BIR insights on its most important initiatives, as well as exclusive interviews from global industry leaders’.

BIR hopes the platform will help the world to take notice of the industry as a whole, acknowledging the huge opportunities recyclers have to contribute to improve the planet.

Available as an E-edition or a sustainably printed glossy magazine, the pages have been crafted from recycled paper with eco-friendly ink. The magazine is currently being mailed to all BIR members in 70 countries worldwide. A digital copy of the first edition can be read HERE.
