Following its acquisition in December by Canadian company Premier Tech, U.K.-based Chronos Richardson is now able to supply packaging and palletising systems for organic materials.
Chronos Richardson is currently promoting the EM-600 Series of automated axial balers to a range of recycling and processing industry sectors. The EM-600 Series is designed for the packaging of compressible bulk products such as natural and synthetic fibres at finished bale compression ratios of up to 3:1. Products handled successfully include: peat moss, mulch, wood shavings, growing media, recycled fibreglass, cellulose, alfalfa and Kevlar.
The EM-600 Series consists of a four-station indexing turntable, with each station having a specific function: the first two are used to fill the compression tube and then to compress the product to the desired compression ratio; while the third typically includes a bag-closing module that forms by tucking in the gussets and making a trimmed double impulse seal just above the product fill line. At the fourth station, an optional bag feeder transfers the filled bag to a conveyor and places a new bag into the compression tube.
A range of fully-automatic bag palletisers can also be included so as fully to maximise production outputs for individual processes, while generating savings and efficiencies when working with compressible bulk products.
