Already a recycler of oil, tyres, PVC and water, the company has been selected by the Commercial Court of Paris to assume the operations of Recovco Affimet, France’s largest aluminium recycler.
Having built an annual turnover of approximately Euro 80 million, the global economic crisis severely drained Recovco’s liquidity and forced the company into administration in January this year.
The deal, which has been concluded for an undisclosed sum, effectively doubles the size of Aurea. The Paris-based group will look to reorganise its new acquisition and thereby reduce its fixed costs with the aim of making the company profitable by 2011.
