The company’s first facility on the continent of Africa will offer services designed to maximise the value of surplus computer and IT equipment to businesses and public sector organisations throughout South Africa and the sub-Saharan region.
SRS’ Kumar Radhakrishnan comments: ’As a global electronics recycling company with a growing number of international clients, this development is extremely important to us. It gives us a strategic foothold in South Africa’s fledging electronics recycling infrastructure as well as a local facility for asset management, recovery and recycling of redundant computer and IT equipment. We have been working hard to get the operation certified to the high international, environmental and health and safety standards for which the company is renowned.’
According to the Australian group, this is the first time that multi-national corporations will have had access to an internationally-compliant e-waste solution in Africa backed by SRS’ worldwide resources.
