Product news | Coinciding with its 120th anniversary year, leading recycling equipment developer Harris has unveiled its Grizzly two-ram baler. Claimed to be the most energy efficient two-ram unit on the market, the Grizzly T100 240-PF is described as a high-force, twin-motor baler ’that draws about 40-50% less power than other 200 HP two-ram balers’.
The machine ’can take on a variety of material with shear and baling forces of 200 to 240 tons and ram face pressure of 186 or 283 psi’, the company adds. Indeed, it will process aluminium/tin cans, aluminium sheeting/siding/extrusions, copper, radiators, wire, some non-magnetic ferrous and select ferrous materials, white goods, wooden pallets, PET, high-density polyethylene, high-grade paper, newsprint, corrugated cardboard and solid waste.
Features include: a robust frame construction with one-piece side walls, no welded joints, and a 2-inch-thick bale chamber floor and end wall; AR 500 replaceable liners; a patented externally-adjustable Smart knife system; Combo Door bale separation and oversize release door; a highly energy efficient flooded suction pump hydraulic system; and self-aligning clevis mount hydraulic cylinders.
According to Bob Pfeffer, Vice President of Sales at Harris, the Grizzly two-ram baler should be of interest to operators keen to lower operational costs without sacrificing production.
