United Kingdom | Blue Machinery, a distributor of screening and recycling equipment in the United Kingdom, has joined the international distributor network for the US-based waste-handling and recycling equipment manufacturer, Marathon Equipment Company.
Marathon’s products will be available through Blue Machinery(Advanced Technologies) Ltd ‘€’ headed by Managing Director Steve Almond, a well-known figure in the UK waste management marketplace. Blue Machinery(Advanced Technologies) Ltd focuses on state-of-the-art separation, baling and tyre shredding equipment designed specifically for large waste processing groups, independents, municipal waste management, MRF operators, converters, and the packaging industry.
With the addition of Marathon’s products, Blue has expanded their portfolio to include two-ram, vertical and horizontal balers, conveying systems, and stationary and portable compacting equipment. ’We are confident that in adding the Marathon compactor, baler and conveyor range to our world-class distributorships, we can further enhance our reputation for providing our customers with the best possible equipment available,’ comments Blue Chairman Pat McGeary.
The products of Marathon’s recycling equipment division, NEXGEN Baling Systems, entered the UK market in 2005 and began building a reputation in the UK as robust, productive and reliable machines for the baling of board, paper, plastics, light alloys and solid waste.
The growing success of NEXGEN products in the UK provided Marathon with the confidence to seek customers for their RAMJET range of solid waste equipment in the international marketplace. ’Marathon has maintained a majority share of the compactor market in the United States for many years,’ explains Marathon Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Bill Wilkerson. ’We are very excited about the opportunity Blue gives us to grow our compactor and baler business and explore the needs of the global waste handling and recycling community.’
