Some 150 customers and agents from all over the world converged on Herselt in Belgium to witness the opening of Rad/Comm Europes new facility which features a training centre and equipment demonstration area.
Rad/Comm Europe took the opportunity to show off a new grapple radiation detection system which is the result of an exclusive collaboration between Liebherr and Rad/Comm; the company also showcased its new RC4000 portal system with ROI (Regions of Interest) Energy Discrimination, and the prototype of a new magnet radiation detection system.
Rad/Comm Europe was established in 2005 as a spin-off from Geysen Recycling Machines. As sales of radiation detection systems in the Benelux countries have been growing exponentially since then, the company felt the need to have a European sales and service office for its products.
Rad/Comm designs and manufactures a wide range of sensitive systems for detecting radiation in scrap metal, waste material and bulk cargoes, including: large vehicle and railway monitoring systems in a full range of detector sizes; grapple-mounted detection systems (Cricket); electric arc furnace Off-Gas monitoring systems; conveyor detection systems for both infeed and downstream; charge bucket systems; portable detectors; and a selection of advanced graphic controllers. The company also designs and manufactures custom systems for detecting radiation in many different applications and configurations.
There are currently over 1500 Rad/Comm detection systems installed and operating throughout the world, backed by distributor/agency support in more than 20 countries.
