High-capacity shredder sold to China

China-based Jiangsu Fengli Group has bought a new high-capacity shredder from US manufacturer The Shedder Company (TSC). The 10 000 HP TSC 124 SXS shredding plant comprises a Schorch electric motor and four lines for inspecting the finished shredded steel scrap. The plant also boasts latest TSC ’Smart Shredding System’ electronic controls to enhance operator efficiency and to provide management reporting for analysis of the entire operation.
The TSC 124 SXS plant is destined for Zhangjiagang near Shanghai and will be delivered in the late spring for start-up in the autumn; it is projected to produce more than 1 million tonnes of shredded steel scrap per annum.
Fengli has operated in the scrap business for many years using a combination of shears and manual/torch disassembly techniques. The new shredder will enable the company to improve its efficiency and broaden its product range.
