Master Magnets Ltd of Redditch, Worcestershire, U.K., has recently won an order from Taiwan for a large electro-magnetic drum to be used in the removal of ferrous material from shredded car residues at a car fragmentiser plant near Shanghai in China. The customer is processing up to 100 tonnes per hour of end-of-life-vehicles and needs to remove as much ferrous material as possible prior to further processing. The order for the equipment was obtained following intensive negotiations.
Following the acquisition of Integrated Recycling Systems Ltd, Master Magnets can now offer shredders, conveyors and complete sorting plants as well as magnetic and non-ferrous (eddy current) separation equipment.

* Genesis
Genesis Equipment & Manufacturing Inc. of Superior, Wisconsin, U.S., has chalked up a milestone by selling its 500th shear attachment – a GXP 400 mobile shear purchased by the Metal Management Inc. scrap facility in Toledo, Ohio, U.S. The non-rotating attachment provides 980 tons of shear force, a 28 inch jaw opening and a typical reach of 8 feet 4 inches, according to Genesis data. This represents the eighth Genesis shear purchased by Metal Management’s Toledo site since the supplier began offering attachments in 1997.

* Columbus McKinnon
Columbus McKinnon Corporation of Sarasota, Florida, U.S., and e&Resources – the company’€™s Asian representative based in the Korean capital Seoul – have announced the sale of the first CM tyre shredder into Japan. The shredder has been purchased by the Takahashi Shoji Corporation, a new and used tyre retailer and recycler located in the city of Obihiro on the north island of Hokkaido. The new machine will be used for producing tyre-derived fuel (TDF) for a local paper company and comes equipped with a ’one inch’€™ Internal Classifier System. The machine is producing one inch (25 mm) TDF chips at a rate of approximately 4 tons per hour.
