Battery recycling congress: call for papers

The Netherlands – Swiss organiser ICM is sending out a call for papers for its 17th International Congress for Battery Recycling (ICBR), which will be held from September 12 to 14 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

At the event, leading battery recycling experts from around the world – including manufacturers, collectors, processors, legislators and policy-makers – will meet to discuss a wide variety of topics, including:

* Battery legislation worldwide

* Take-back, collection and recycling

* Financial aspects of collection and recycling towards a sustainable battery industry

* Challenges for battery manufacturers and the recycling industry

* Separation and recovery of spent batteries from WEEE – reality or dream?

* Fast-developing markets and collection opportunities

* Challenges faced by the growth of the lithium battery markets and the diversification of technologies

* Best available technologies for battery recycling

* New recycling technologies and processes

* Best available technologies for dismantling, sorting and recycling

* Update on worldwide recycling laws and regulations

* Reuse, repair and recovery of used equipment

* Country reports on recycling

 

The organisers of ICBR 2012 are inviting interested authors to submit their presentation proposals before March 30 2012.
