Germany – German recycler Estato Umweltservice GmbH will launch a new plant to process scrap tyres. The facility is to be built on the company’s existing site at Weiden at a cost of some Euro 3.5 million (US$ 4.6 million).
Through this its third plant, Estato is looking to recover rubber granules, tyre wire and textile fibre to meet growing market demand using a custom-developed collection and sorting method capable of processing large quantities of tyres; those in relatively good condition are set aside for sale to retread manufacturers, while the remainder are pelletised and sold to the rubber processing industry.
The facility’s major customers will include German automotive specialist ATU Auto-parts-Unger, whose overall recycling needs have been covered by Estato for several years.

I certainly hope that someone has cracked the method of recycling tyres! It’s always a great sign when a tyre retailer has good recycling in place and can get a lot of extra customers this way. I know for us, as we are looking this is an important factor. Keep up the good work!
