Poland – Alumetal SA, one of Europe’s largest aluminium casting alloy producers, has opened a new plant in Poland featuring three TiTech sorting machines.
The plant at NowaSól is operating three high-speed x-tract (XRT) sensor-based sorting systems capable of processing up to 30 tonnes per hour. After shredding and screening, the X-ray-based machines remove heavy metals and high alloy aluminium to deliver a high-quality product for re-smelting.
Launched two years ago, the TiTech x-tract machines are said to offer an excellent return on investment and high levels of accuracy. They are capable of sorting, via atomic density, a variety of input streams including ferrous scrap and organic wastes.
The Alumetal Group, which dates back to 1953, has locations at K?ty, Gorzyce and NowaSól in Poland and produces aluminium alloys from scrap. TiTech is part of TOMRA Sorting of Norway and has already supplied more than 3000 sensor-based sorting machines to the waste and metal recycling industries in more than 40 markets.
