A new partnership between US recycler ERI and India’s Ecoreco aims to boost electronics recycling, critical minerals recovery and IT disposition (ITAD) across the Indian subcontinent.

ERI is a major e-scrap recycler, headquartered in Fresno, California. Ecoreco is said to be India’s only publicly traded electronics recycling and electronic waste management company.

The partnership is claimed to be a unique collaboration in India, bringing together ERI’s expertise in modern electronics recycling, ITAD and material recovery with Ecoreco’s leadership in India’s rapidly evolving e-scrap sector.

Through ERI India, the two companies plan to establish a platform to support the development of India’s circular economy while addressing the growing need for responsible management and recovery of the country’s valuable materials from electronic products and IT equipment.

India’s circular economy

The partnership comes as the volume of electronic waste and demand for critical materials are increasing globally. By combining advanced recycling technologies with local expertise and infrastructure, ERI India wants to improve the recovery and reuse of valuable materials from end-of-life electronics.

The platform will also focus on IT asset disposition, helping organisations manage retired electronic and IT equipment through secure, environmentally responsible processes while maximising opportunities for material recovery and reuse.

The collaboration between ERI and Ecoreco is designed to create a scalable model for sustainable resource management in India, with potential applications across electronics recycling, technology asset recovery and critical minerals processing.

Announced soon

ERI India will be officially launched during a press conference at the MRAI International Business Summit in Tokyo, Japan, on 31 August.
