Pallmann expands in briquette technology

Germany/USA – Pallmann Industries, the US branch of German shredding technology company Pallmann Group has ‘strengthened its position in briquette and pelletising recycling technology’ with the acquisition of technology from Swiss company BP Recycling Systems. The deal, whose financial details were not disclosed, enables Pallmann to offer a full range of equipment to produce briquettes and pellets from municipal and industrial solid waste, biomass, wood, plastics, textiles, glass and non-ferrous metals.

Rolf Gren, general manager of Pallmann Industries, said the newly acquired technology is ‘€˜a perfect match’€™ with the company’€™s existing competencies in shredding all kinds of solid waste. He added that the addition of BP Recycling’€™s know-how will enable Pallmann to tap into unexplored sectors, especially the preparation of refuse-derived fuel (RDF) for combustion or gasification.
