Coveris has expanded its ReCover recycling arm in the UK to include paper. The move marks a shift from a plastics-only model to a combined platform and supports the company’s wider ‘no waste’ strategy.

It says it will strengthen circularity across its operations by unifying paper and plastics recycling.

ReCover Paper processes around 10 000 tonnes of waste per year. It handles redundant linerless label stock, cardboard, transit films and more than 500 000 label cores, which are sorted and recovered for reuse.

Unified platform

‘Integrating ReCover Paper reflects our aim to create a unified, visible recycling platform across our business,’ says Adam Robinson, head of sustainability in Coveris’ paper business unit. The paper stream is ‘vital to improving our own sustainability performance’ while also offering an industry-leading service to customers.

Robinson notes that partnerships such as RafCycle and membership of Celab help strengthen the company’s ‘no waste’ model. He highlights that 64% of Coveris’ sites have achieved Platinum EcoVadis scores, placing the company among the top 1% of performers globally.

Coveris says the expanded ReCover division will support deeper collaboration across the value chain and drive further gains in environmental performance.
