United States – US-based recycling equipment specialist Krause Manufacturing is celebrating its 50th birthday. Established in 1963, Krause built a reputation for manufacturing heavy-duty equipment for the agricultural market before making its ‘smooth transition’ into recycling in 1985
The business currently produces heavy-duty recycling systems for construction & demolition and municipal solid waste, front-end system solutions for waste conversion technologies, and also single-stream and electronic waste systems.
The company’s background in farming equipment made it easier to succeed in the recycling market, according to Jay Edmonds, Krause Manufacturing’s sales engineer. ‘Our founder Herb Krause’s philosophy was if you could build a machine that a farmer couldn’t tear apart, you did well,’ he recalls. ‘The recycling industry also demands strong standards of its equipment; over 25 years later, much of our equipment is still up and running.’
Working with CP Group
In 2004, Krause Manufacturing joined the CP Group, a separation technology pioneer which it has helped better to serve the needs of the construction & demolition market. Krause moved its manufacturing operations to CP’s headquarters in San Diego where group investment ensured that the space available to Krause increased from 50 000 square feet to 120 000 square feet and that its production process was substantially upgraded through provision of state-of-the-art fabricating equipment.
