On the eve of its annual conference in Hamburg, the European Recycling Industries’ Confederation (EuRIC) has unveiled a new identity, rebranding itself as Recycling Europe.
The move marks a strategic shift aimed at reinforcing the sector’s collective voice amid mounting global competition, trade tensions and the accelerating push for industrial decarbonisation.
As Europe faces rising raw material insecurity and the urgent challenge of meeting climate targets, Recycling Europe underlines the essential role of recyclers in advancing the EU’s climate, circular economy, resource autonomy and competitiveness objectives.
In support of recyclers
‘Recycling Europe embodies the evolution of the Confederation into a unified, forward-looking voice for recyclers across the continent,’ says the association’s secretary general Julia Ettinger. ‘While our name has changed, our mission remains the same: to ensure that recyclers are recognised and empowered as indispensable partners in building Europe’s circular and resilient economy.’
Broad coverage
Recycling Europe will continue representing recyclers across all material streams – from metals and plastics to paper, textiles, tyres, and beyond – while strengthening the organisation’s visibility and impact at both European and international levels.
The organisation currently represents 80 members across 24 EU & EFTA countries, and over 5 500 companies.
