Germany – German manufacturer Komptech is ready for ‘a new era’ with its umbrella Green Efficiency brand. Two years of development work have yielded novel drive technologies that derive their energy straight from the sun such that the equipment boasts ‘the highest possible efficiency and the lowest cost to the environment’, according to the company.
Komptech’s product range already comprises a number of machines with this new technology, including the latest Crambo direct mobile shredders, the electric-driven Cribus drum screens, and the stationary Terminator shredder.
When operating the Cribus, whether using the on-board diesel generator or grid power, its electric drive is said to use up to 75% less power than comparable diesel-hydraulic trommels, Komptech states. Meanwhile, the Terminator is claimed to offer 30% lower energy consumption because of its electric motor with mechanical gearbox with two manual speeds, reverse gear and overload protection.
‘Green Efficiency technology brings together several benefits,’ says the German manufacturer, noting by way of example higher efficiency in drive, shredding and material discharge. But ‘no compromises are made’, it adds, in terms of throughput, functionality or range of applications.
