Belgium – ‘Rubber recycling is a contentious and often unspoken issue,’ according to the ‘European Rubber Journal’. Therefore, it says, ‘honest and frank exchange’ is needed to address this growing topic.
To this end, the Tire Rubber Recycling Forum 2013 (TRR 2013) is to be held on November 19-20 at Le Chatelain Hotel in Brussels, Belgium.
The gathering will discuss: new and upcoming rules and regulations; ethical and sustainability pressures; as well as the latest technical innovations worldwide relating to reuse and disposal of end-of-life tyres (ELTs).
The forum is intended to bring together key associations, academic bodies, government agencies and research centres, as well as tyre manufacturers, suppliers and recyclers, in a bid to ‘make headway’ on tyre treatment issues.
Keynote speakers will include: Jacob Peled, executive chairman at Pelmar Engineering; Dr Valerie L. Shulman, secretary general of the European Tyre Recycling Association; Michael Blumenthal, vice president of the Rubber Manufacturers Association; Lars Raahauge, director of business development at Genan Business & Development; and Luc Goubert, ‘Persuade’ project representative at the Belgian Road Research Centre.
