Australia – The Australian capital Sydney will play host to the ‘most established’ commercial event dedicated to the Australasian waste and recycling marketplace on October 9-10, namely the fifth Australasian Waste & Recycling Expo (AWRE).
The event, to be held at the Sydney Olympic Park, will highlight latest industry trends and showcase innovation. Notable speakers in a varied programme of presentations will include Damien Giurco, associate professor of resource futures at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). He currently directs the Wealth from Waste Cluster, a AU$ 9 million research collaboration involving UTS and Yale on new business models to capture value from resources in the circular economy.
Other topics to be discussed include: urban mining; understanding and influencing behaviour to reduce illegal dumping; digital tools and technology as an aid to meeting recycling goals; and new strategies designed to improve management and recovery of ′problem waste′.
AWRE attracts exhibitors and delegates from across Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Europe and North America who are looking for innovative ways to collect, sort and process waste from the municipal, commercial and construction sectors.
