Germany – The 15th International Automobile Recycling Congress (IARC 2015) will be held on March 25-27 next year at the Hotel Palace in Germany’s capital Berlin.
Delegates from industry, from the authority arena and from academia will discuss latest developments and challenges for the manufacturing and end-of-life vehicle (ELV) businesses. The conference will bring together the various links in the ELV recycling chain such as car manufacturers, metals and plastics scrap traders, recyclers, shredder operators and policy-makers from all over the world. The organisers expect more than 250 international industry leaders to participate.
The main topics of the congress will include; How car manufacturers and the recycling industry close the recycling loop; The role of the automotive industry in the context of ELV recycling; Best available recycling technologies; Car manufacturer feedback from Asia, the USA and Europe; Next-generation recycling processes and equipment; The EU’s ELV Directive; E-mobility and its influence on car recycling and dismantling; and Recycling challenges presented by new automotive materials such as nickel metal hydride, lithium-ion batteries, carbon fibre, glass, lamps and catalysts.
The congress’ keynote speakers will be Erik Jonnaert, secretary general of the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) and Wolfram Thomas, group chief officer for environment, energy and new business areas at Volkswagen.
A large exhibition area will be integrated into the conference facilities for vendors to meet their clients. Cocktail receptions and a networking dinner will also be arranged.
