ZenRobotics enters ‘enormous’ Japanese market

Japan – Robotic sorting technology specialist ZenRobotics of Finland has appointed Sun Earth Co. as distributor of its waste sorting systems in Japan.

Several units will be delivered in late 2015 – claimed to be ‘the first of their kind’ in Japan. ‘The systems will be installed at various locations and they will be operated by forerunning Japanese waste management companies,’ comments Sun Earth’s ceo Yutaka Ebihara.

ZenRobotics’ managing director Rainer Rehn describes the market for robotic waste sorting in Japan as ‘enormous’, adding: ‘A highly-developed waste management industry and an interest towards robotic solutions make an excellent base for robotic waste sorting in the market. With these orders, our production slots for 2015 are nearly filled.’

Claimed to be ‘the world’s first’ robotic waste sorting system, the ZenRobotics Recycler is designed to reduce waste processing costs and increase recycling efficiency. The system reclaims multiple fractions simultaneously with the help of industrial robots and ‘smart’ machine learning technology.
