United Arab Emirates – Al Sharif Metals, which has its headquarters in Jordan’s capital Amman, has been chosen to receive an Excellence Award by King Abdullah II of Jordan.
Al Sharif Metals is part of the Sharjah-headquartered scrap recycling and trading giant Sharif Metals. Founded in 1963, this company counts as one of the largest privately owned businesses in the Middle East as well as in North Africa.
According to the World Trade Organization, the United Arab Emirates has become a ‘key player’ in global trade. Its review of the ‘growing trade hub’ complimented the thriving multilateral trading system and policies for a free and open economy – and came in the year that marks the 20th anniversary of the country’s accession to the World Trade Organization.
