United States – The board of directors of the US Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) has approved changes to the electronics plastics specs listed on pages 46 to 50 of its scrap specifications circular. As per ISRI’s policy manual, any party may submit a written appeal to the ISRI board’s approval of these new specifications up to 30 days after the publication of the notice. Written appeals must provide a rationale and a request for action, and should be sent to ISRI chief economist and director of commodities Joe Pickard.
All specifications are subject to final terms and conditions as agreed between the buyer and the seller. Plastic should not contain hazardous materials, medical waste or free-flowing liquid. Contamination includes: painted/coated; laminated; metals; dirt; and wood.
