Poland a growth market for recycling equipment major

Poland – Steady economic growth and large investments in construction projects have opened up new opportunities for the recycling industry in Poland, according to Toni Reftman, managing director of recycling equipment manufacturer Eldan.

‘In Poland, a growing number of companies want a piece of the valuable recycling cake,’ says Reftman. ‘The past five years we have noticed a steady increase in requests from Poland.’

In cable recycling, Eldan has seen an increase in both quotes and orders for small- and medium-capacity systems, as well as for solutions for the further recovery of fine copper from insulation. And regarding tyre recycling, a clear trend has been identified towards further improving the end product. ‘A further cleaned steel fraction with a density of up to 0.7 is very desirable with European steel works,’ it is stressed.

According to Eldan’s representative for the Polish market, Tomasz Kajzer, the country’s recycling industry has consisted of a few key players for a long while, mainly in large-capacity tyre recycling and cable/electronics recycling. ‘Now we are contacted by investors looking for equipment in various areas, including aluminium scrap processing and recycling of tyres,’ he points out.
