‘Impressive’ Untha QR shredder sold to Candi

Austria – Recycling technology expert UNTHA has announced that Candi Plastic Recycling is the first company to install the new QR series single-shaft shredder at its facility to help it sort 3,500 tonnes of plastics per year.

The Austrian recycler specialises in the collection and treatment of non-hazardous waste and says the UNTHA single-shaft shredder ‘exceeded all expectations’ due to the ‘extreme versatility’ of the machine.

‘I am particularly impressed with the multifunctional flap that makes foreign objects easy to remove and the hopper easy to clean,’ says Gheorghe Campan, managing director of Candi Plastic. He compliments the large rotor diameter of the shredder and the fact that it can process all different kinds of plastics.

Candi Plastic Recycling was specifically looking for a unit that could effectively shred filament strings and big bags, notes UNTHA project leader Arno Urbanek. He ensures that the QR series shredders, which we first launched at this year’s IFAT trade show in Munich, allow customers to reduce costs while increasing their operational performance and simplifying their maintenance schedule at the same time.

The QR series ranges from a rated capacity of 22 to 180 kilowatts and a cutting unit width of 800, 1,000, 1,200, 1,400, 1,700 and 2,100 millimetres.
