Europe – The European Tyre Recycling Association (ETRA) will hold its 24th conference on March 22-24 2017 at the NH Hotel du Grand Sablon in Brussels. The conference, entitled ‘Defining the Circular Economy for Tyre Recycling’ will focus on industry-to-industry, business-to-business opportunities leading to what ETRA describes as ‘durable market growth’.
The tyre recycling industry is ‘facing a number of challenges in the drive towards taking its place in the circular economy’, says ETRA. The conference will focus on exploring these challenges and identify possible solutions/opportunities for recyclers, especially in terms of material options, potential end-users and expanded markets.
The event in the Belgian capital will feature discussions on producer responsibility and eco-design, as well as technical rubber and polymer compounds using end-of-life tyre materials. Also to be examined will be opportunities for use of tyre-derived materials in road construction and expanding markets in urban construction.
Technologies and products will be presented along with the standards for evaluating their characteristics. There will also be a matchmaking event aimed at bringing together companies for future collaborations.
