United Kingdom – Shredder manufacturer UNTHA UK has received an award from third-party accreditation organisation SafeContractor for its commitment to health and safety. The North Yorkshire team achieved this recognition following a rigorous audit of the company’s safety protocols.
Supplying shredding technology weighing up to 24 tonnes and capable of processing anything from everyday household and commercial waste through to automotive scrap, refrigerators and mattresses, UNTHA UK operates in potentially high-hazard environments. But through its adherence to ‘well-established health and safety policies, risk management procedures and robust training’, the organisation upholds ‘an exemplary incident-free record’, it maintains.
The certification from SafeContractor is claimed to be widely recognised by some of the country’s leading blue-chip brands as independent evidence of health and safety competency, ‘which instils confidence in the organisation’s ability to tackle even the largest or most difficult of projects, UNTHA states.
‘We have always prided ourselves on our commitment to engineering safe, efficient shredders which achieve clients’ waste and recycling objectives whilst prioritising the well-being of the people responsible for commissioning, operating and maintaining the machinery,’ comments UNTHA UK’s chairman Chris Oldfield. ‘But self-praise can mean very little to prospective customers who need utmost reassurance that we can execute their project perfectly. This independent certification therefore reinforces our promise of working with maximum respect, compliance and consideration for the well-being of our own staff and anyone else we come into contact with on clients’ sites.’
