Germany – STEINERT Elektromagnetbau GmbH of Germany has been renamed Steinert GmbH. ‘For years, STEINERT has not only been known for separation solutions that use magnet technology but also for sensor-based sorting machines. As a result, the company’s name will no longer include just one of these two technologies,’ the Cologne-headquartered company explains.
‘Changing the name is a logical step,’ comments STEINERT’S technical managing director Dr Uwe Habich. ‘Sensor sorting machines account for an increasing share of our business year by year. Moreover, they offer valuable solutions for the waste and metal recycling markets as well as for the mining industry.’
Proof of this trend is STEINERT’s recent installation of 20 sensor-based systems at a single facility for sorting lightweight packaging. ‘This clearly shows that our name should no longer focus exclusively on magnet technology,’ says Habich.
STEINERT has also redesigned its logo so as to make mention of both technologies in the tagline and has ‘polished’ its yellow corporate colour.
The company has seen an increase in both turnover and earnings this year while order books ‘are full for the first two quarters of 2018’. Employing some 300 people and generating an annual turnover of around Euro 100 million, the company has subsidiaries in Germany, Australia, the USA, Brazil and South Africa. In addition, it has some 50 sales partnerships and joint ventures around the globe.
