India: In celebration of Earth Day, people in the Indian city of Chennai pulled together late last month to set a new Guinness World Record by creating the ‘largest human recycling logo’.
No fewer than 1726 participants wearing green hats and shirts joined hands on April 22 to create the logo measuring 45 feet by 75 feet. The event was organised by the B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology and several other partners to promote the message of ‘reduce, recycle, reuse’ across India.
The new record has since been confirmed by the Guiness World Record organisation. The previous best of 751 people was achieved on June 7 last year by Mersin Büyükşehir Belediyesi in Mersin Cumhuriyet Square, Mersin, Turkey.
